What was the main reason why you decided to apply for this particular program?

The main reason to apply for Digital Thinkers was that this job will offer me what I mostly need. That is guidance to apply my knowledge on Marketing as well as further education on the field of Digital Marketing and Advertising, which is a field that is constantly evolving even in a country that hasn’t yet overcome its financial distress. Through Digital Thinkers, I will have the opportunity to evolve as well as contribute both to the Digital Thinkers team and to Think Digital.

Greece’s unemployment rate in Q3 of 2012 reached an all-time high 24.8%. What kept you motivated while on the hunt for a job?

Looking for a job in Greece at this point of time can be a very discouraging activity, especially for young people without any work experience on their field of study, like me. However, during my job hunting I tried to stay positive. In general, I am a very hopeful and optimistic person. I believe that you have to think positive in order for good things to happen to your life. This positive way of thinking was what kept me motivated to never stop looking for a job and also, in my point of view, the reason why I am now a member of Think Digital.

You regard yourself a “Digital Thinker” because…

I think of myself as a “Digital Thinker” because I have realized that the digital world has bestowed both consumers and companies with great power. Businesses today are able to connect and interact with consumers in a more direct way and create social communities that offer users the opportunity to be in an ongoing relationship with brands, as well as with other users. Meanwhile, Internet and especially Social Media have given consumers the power to generate both positive and negative information about products or services that can influence many other consumers. As a result, in order to succeed in the volatile business environment, companies have to incorporate digital activities as an integral part of their marketing strategy.

What was the last inspiring book you read?

I recently read a book called “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” by Mark Haddon. This book gave me the opportunity to see how an autistic boy sees the world as well as what are the challenges that he has to face in our world. It made me understand that people are not the same, they have different needs and that each person, either autistic or not, sees and lives every day of his or her life in a unique way.

What’s your motto in life?

Motto in life is: “With positive thinking and hard work everything can be done”.
